Plain-English help and trustworthy links for borrowers dealing with student loan forgiveness, repayment, default, collections, servicer problems, and lawsuits. Everything here is educational — we are not a law firm or a debt-relief company.

- Federal Student Aid (studentaid.gov) — your loans, servicers, repayment plans, and applications.
- Loan Simulator — compare repayment plans and estimated payments.
- Getting out of default — rehabilitation, consolidation, and Fresh Start.
- myeddebt.ed.gov — defaulted loans, wage garnishment, and tax-refund offset.

Having a problem with your servicer?
If your servicer (Aidvantage, MOHELA, Nelnet, or another) made an error, the fastest path is usually: (1) document the problem in writing, (2) file a complaint with the CFPB, and (3) for federal loans, escalate to the FSA Ombudsman. Many state attorneys general also take student loan complaints.
